Ridge Church Project - Phase II
On August 11, seven men from five states came to New Durham, New Hampshire to begin phase two of the Ridge Church restoration.
From as far away as Arkansas, and picking up men in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee along the way, this group came to paint, and paint they did.
Despite rain on Monday and Tuesday, this crew was not to be denied. Though the plan was to paint the outside, we changed gears and moved inside to get a head start on next year’s work. With the sun starting to peek through on Tuesday afternoon, the work moved outside again.
While everything didn’t go as planned, we still accomplished a lot. All the main section of the church is painted. Due to rain and the prediction of rain, we never got to the bell tower. We will get that on a later trip. In addition to that we were able to get the foyer area painted on the inside as well as putting in drain pipe to keep water from standing under the building.
Thank you Tom Harmon, Paul Lingle , Mark Kash, Denver McKay, Mark McCarty, and Greg McCarty for a job well done.
Plan on joining us next year as the next phase will be inside painting.
