Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. -Galations 6:2
Three Things You Should Do For Your Pastor
1. Talk To Your Pastor… Discover his burdens, vision, and goals.
2. Pray For Your Pastor… Pray for his spiritual well being. Pray that he will boldly and effectively proclaim the Word of God. Pray that his decisions will be guided by divine wisdom. Pray for his family. Pray for his physical and emotional strength.
3. Form A Burden’s Bearers Prayer Group… Challenge other men in your church to gather once a week and pray for and if possible with your pastor. Try to get men to commit to praying for their pastor and the ministry of their local church every day.
How To Touch The World With Prayer
1. Pray Manageably… Begin praying for a missionary that you know or know about. Pray consistently. As you are able, expand your prayer involvement to additional laborers. When events take place such as a devastating earthquake, or some other disaster pray for the government leaders, relief coordinators, and local church leaders that God would guide their efforts. Pray that even in difficult circumstances hearts would be opened to the gospel.
2. Pray Practically… Gather as much information as possible about those you are praying for. Missions hotlines, missionary prayer cards, and of course personal correspondence can be great sources of information.
3. Pray Strategically… Pray as Jesus taught, for workers to be called. Ask the Lord to turn the hearts of government leaders so more doors will be opened for increasing missions efforts. Pray for those who lead missionary sending agencies that they will have God’s wisdom and that financial resources will be provided to take the gospel to the world.
